Hotel Renovation : Integrating Culture And Smart Storage

This project is a comprehensive renovation and customization of a luxury hotel. The hotel was established in 2010, covering an area of 65,000 square meters. It has 290 guest rooms, 7 executive suites, 3 high-end restaurants, 2 large banquet halls, a rooftop infinity pool and a spa center. The core demand of the owner is to upgrade the hotel to meet the growing demand for high-end accommodation - combining modern luxurious aesthetics with traditional cultural elements to enhance the guest experience.

Project background

Driven by the recovery of the tourism industry and the improvement of local consumption capacity, the hotel industry is growing rapidly and is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 8.5% by 2030. However, the original hotel was confronted with several key challenges that needed to be addressed:

• Cultural integration: The original design lacks local cultural characteristics and fails to resonate with local guests and international tourists, thus failing to seek a genuine regional experience.
• Climate adaptation: The climate is hot and dry throughout the year, so materials and designs should prioritize heat insulation, sun protection and ventilation. It turned out that the hotel had poor insulation, which led to high energy consumption and an uncomfortable indoor temperature.
• Commercial function upgrade: The hotel's kitchen cabinets, guest room wardrobes, and bathroom systems are outdated and cannot meet the functional requirements of luxurious reception. The kitchen lacks efficient storage and operation space to hold various delicacies, while the guest room requires smarter storage and high-end decoration.
• Brand positioning: The hotel aims to compete with international luxury brands and requires a design that balances global luxury standards with unique local characteristics to stand out in the highly competitive market.

One Stop Customized and decoration solutions

We have adopted a "culture-driven, function-oriented" strategy, integrating traditional design elements with modern luxurious materials and intelligent solutions.

Customized kitchen cabinets: Efficient, durable, and suitable for cooking

The three restaurants of the hotel need custom kitchen cabinets to balance efficiency, durability and cultural integration, while adapting to the hot climate:

• Material selection: The cabinet body is made of high-quality 304 stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, easy to clean, and can withstand the high-temperature environment of the kitchen and frequent cleaning. The door panels are made of warm beige matte PET material, echoing the neutral tones of the hotel's interior. The surface is etched with subtle Mashrabiya checkered patterns to reflect the local culture.
• Functional Design: We have designed a U-shaped layout with pull-out drawers for storing pancakes and seasonings, while the kitchen of the international restaurant is equipped with built-in kitchen cabinets for the oven and refrigerator. All kitchens are equipped with 25mm thick quartz countertops and LED light strips under the cabinets to eliminate operational shadows.
• Climate adaptation: We installed insulation boards at the back of the cabinet to reduce heat transfer from the outside of the kitchen and added a ventilation system to keep the air circulating and prevent moisture accumulation in hot and dry climates.

Customized wardrobe for guest rooms: Luxurious, intelligent and space-saving

Guest rooms and executive suites require wardrobes that integrate luxury and intelligent storage, while maximizing space utilization and adapting to guests' needs.

• Design and Materials: The wardrobe is built-in to save space. It features a solid oak frame and warm-toned wood veneer, complemented by golden metal hardware, creating a luxurious feel. The frosted glass on the door panel features a custom Mashrabiya grid pattern, allowing light to pass through while maintaining privacy, reinterpreting traditional architectural elements in a modern way.
• Intelligence and functional configuration: The standard guest room wardrobe includes adjustable hanging rods, pull-out accessory drawers, and built-in LED sensor lights that automatically open when the door is opened. The executive suite features a walk-in closet, luggage storage compartments, and an in-built safe.
• Cultural details: The partitions of the wardrobe feature subtle Arab geometric patterns, adding a touch of local charm without compromising modern aesthetics.

Bathroom customization: luxurious, comfortable and climate-friendly

The bathroom is custom-made to meet the standards of luxury hotels, with an emphasis on comfort, durability and cultural integration, while addressing the hot climate:

• Material selection: The top of the dressing table is made of imported ceramic and is equipped with a wall-mounted faucet to save space and maintain a fashionable appearance.
• Functional configuration: Standard rooms are equipped with rain showers and separate bathtubs, while executive suites are upgraded to smart bathroom systems (sensor faucets, smart toilet seats and anti-fog mirrors). All bathrooms are equipped with built-in toiletries storage cabinets, and the door panels match the wardrobes to maintain a consistent style.
• Enhance comfort: To cope with the hot climate, we have added high air circulation exhaust fans to keep the bathroom dry.
